Real Madrid has a Number 9 issue. After Benzema left, it has created a gap that must be filled. Klajdi, Kris and Lorenzo offer their thoughts on who Real Madrid should sign.

Klajdi (Klyde):
What’s up everybody? Clyde here with The Offside Perspective. I’m joined here by Lorenzo and Chris and today

Lorenzo:
Thank you.

Klajdi (Klyde):
today’s topic is Real Madrid’s number nine issue. So obviously Benzema is gone, they need a number nine. Where where does Real Madrid go from here? Lorenzo?

CHRIS:
So.

Lorenzo:
Um, I

Klajdi (Klyde):
or

Lorenzo:
feel

Klajdi (Klyde):
Chris,

Lorenzo:
like

Klajdi (Klyde):
if you, Chris go ahead, you raise your hand.

CHRIS:
I thought we were following classroom procedures, but I think there’s only one answer and whatever you guys will say is wrong. I think Harry Kane is the answer, again.

Klajdi (Klyde):
So much

CHRIS:
I’m asking

Klajdi (Klyde):
English

CHRIS:
for

Klajdi (Klyde):
bias,

CHRIS:
those that don’t know

Klajdi (Klyde):
man.

CHRIS:
the context, you can see our previous video and see our little debate with Clyde over this Harry Kane topic. So I think he’s the answer to everything. He’s the upcoming Jesus.

Klajdi (Klyde):
You can offend a bunch of people with that last comment.

CHRIS:
Hey, controversy man, against

Klajdi (Klyde):
But

CHRIS:
views.

Klajdi (Klyde):
you meant Jesus, right? He’s the upcoming

CHRIS:
Yeah,

Klajdi (Klyde):
Jesus, Gabriel

CHRIS:
uh, Darcelle

Klajdi (Klyde):
Jesus.

CHRIS:
player. Yeah.

Lorenzo:
Thank

Klajdi (Klyde):
So

Lorenzo:
you.

Klajdi (Klyde):
you think Harry Kane would solve Real Madrid’s number nine issue?

CHRIS:
He is the answer, yes.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Here’s the answer.

CHRIS:
Yes.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Okay. Lorenzo, what is your opinion?

Lorenzo:
I think Real is going to try a different approach. Kind of like Pep when he played without a DeClery striker. With the Bellingham coming in Real Madrid. You have Vinicius, you have Rodrigo. I feel like they’re going to try to play without a number nine. and they definitely have the players to do that. You just, I would say, I would assume they would probably focus more on, you know, Vinicius coming more central from the wings, kind of like Ronaldo, start on the wings, coming more central. That would be my guess. I don’t think they’re going to get a true number nine. I mean, there’s still time on the transfer market, but I see Real Madrid as, you know… Changing the approach a little bit. Adapting players in different positions.

Klajdi (Klyde):
I don’t see that for a few reasons. One, Ancelotti, I don’t think he’ll play without a number nine. He’s always had a number nine. And two, other teams have done it. You’re right. I mean, Bayern did it. Man City did it. But at the same time, even though they didn’t have a number nine, number nine, they had a backup. So Bayern had a true promote team, whatever, secondhand player, but they still had it. Right. And so help them score some goals. Man City did not have a Aguero, but they had, uh, Gabriel Jesus. Still has Zeus was, uh, you know, I wouldn’t say like a perfect replacement, but he still helped them when they needed him and around Madrid, they just don’t have that unless, unless they have some Academy player or someone that, that we don’t know. I mean, they had Mariano Diaz. He kind of started. as a number nine, even though he got number seven right after Ronaldo left. Mariano Diaz left. Now the guy, Ibrahim Diaz, they got, they’re loaded in midfield.

Lorenzo:
Alright, that’s why I’m saying

Klajdi (Klyde):
They’re

Lorenzo:
you

CHRIS:
Thank

Lorenzo:
don’t

Klajdi (Klyde):
good

CHRIS:
you.

Lorenzo:
think…

Klajdi (Klyde):
on defense, but on wings… Because

Lorenzo:
So you

Klajdi (Klyde):
even

Lorenzo:
don’t think…

Klajdi (Klyde):
on wings, you got to realize, on wings they have Rodrigo and they have Vinicius. What if one gets injured? Because you got to think about, you know, squad depth also.

Lorenzo:
Right, that’s what I said. You don’t think they can shift to Venice’s more central? Like, you know, because Ronaldo was the wing that made United too, you know, when he started and then he had a great season and then he became almost,

Klajdi (Klyde):
Well,

Lorenzo:
you know.

Klajdi (Klyde):
technically speaking on paper, Ronaldo was a winger even around Madrid, right? Benzema

Lorenzo:
Right,

Klajdi (Klyde):
was the number nine,

Lorenzo:
right, so

Klajdi (Klyde):
even

Lorenzo:
that’s…

Klajdi (Klyde):
though Ronaldo was a goalscorer.

Lorenzo:
Right, so…

Klajdi (Klyde):
But I’m thinking mostly from squad depth perspective, right? Because the season is long, you’re in three competitions. What happens if, God forbid, one of them gets injured? Either Rodrigo or Vinicius Jr. What happens then? You got no wings.

CHRIS:
Yeah, but so this like on the winger side, they can, you know, have someone else. They can change the midfield shape. Um, you can do a lot of things to, to change that, but don’t forget

Klajdi (Klyde):
I’m

CHRIS:
they

Klajdi (Klyde):
not

CHRIS:
have.

Klajdi (Klyde):
talking

CHRIS:
No,

Klajdi (Klyde):
about makeshift formations,

CHRIS:
no,

Klajdi (Klyde):
I mean

CHRIS:
but

Klajdi (Klyde):
sure, yeah you can

CHRIS:
hear me out. Hear me out. What I was trying to say. What I’m

Klajdi (Klyde):
Okay.

CHRIS:
saying is there’s, there’s a solution to that, right? There’s some, it might not be the most ideal solution, but there’s a solution. You have no one as a striker, like zero.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Right.

CHRIS:
Like who? So that’s, you know, their problem is a striker. But I think knowing that, so they can’t, okay, City’s done it, Barca’s done it. Apparently, Byron’s done it, which I don’t agree with you. I don’t think I’ve seen Byron play without a striker. Or,

Klajdi (Klyde):
Well,

CHRIS:
you know,

Klajdi (Klyde):
without

CHRIS:
maybe

Klajdi (Klyde):
a

CHRIS:
actually

Klajdi (Klyde):
number

CHRIS:
not,

Klajdi (Klyde):
9 per se,

CHRIS:
yeah.

Klajdi (Klyde):
you know?

CHRIS:
But, so these systems were in a way like set up that way because… you didn’t even the number nine was not truly a striker at all times the number nine sometimes had to come back sometimes at the drop on the wings you know you had someone else taking his position so reales is more rigid it’s not this type of fluid system that you know city in barca played on with without this stuff so unless real wants to change their philosophy within a month uh… you know until the transfer window ends i don’t think that’s going to be likely some type of striker because

Klajdi (Klyde):
Then they’re gonna buy the solution for every team, right? Kane.

CHRIS:
you can’t invest all this money in all these other positions and then lack it in the striker position.

Klajdi (Klyde):
that’s

CHRIS:
You can’t

Klajdi (Klyde):
kind

CHRIS:
leave

Klajdi (Klyde):
of like

CHRIS:
it.

Klajdi (Klyde):
buying a Ferrari without a steering wheel

CHRIS:
Yeah exactly.

Klajdi (Klyde):
so

Lorenzo:
Amen.

Klajdi (Klyde):
to speak

CHRIS:
You’re almost completing this thing and you’re going to leave it without a striker. I don’t

Lorenzo:
I

CHRIS:
think

Lorenzo:
think…

CHRIS:
that’s going to work for them anyways.

Lorenzo:
I think…

Klajdi (Klyde):
And you know where I saw that? I’m sorry Lawrence. I’m

Lorenzo:
Okay.

Klajdi (Klyde):
gonna say something. So last year when Benzema was injured for a few games Real Madrid Suffered sure, you know, they had a solution. Obviously, you know, you’re gonna have a replacement You’re still gonna play with 11 players on the field But you know what a number nine gives you You cannot you cannot go without number nine for the whole season in three different competitions Unless you just want to consider it as a transitory season, because Ancelotti is going to be gone at the end of the season. But if you’re Real Madrid, such a big team, you’re not going to take that gamble.

Lorenzo:
I mean, realistically speaking,

Klajdi (Klyde):
What are you going to say, Lorenzo?

Lorenzo:
I think this is, I mean, I think it’s a perfect time for Mbappe to go to Real Madrid and kind of force PSG hand. He came out with the comments on the interviews. Plus, you know, his contract runs out last next year. So and PSG is not going to let a player like Mbappe, you know, leave for free. On any business, you know,

Klajdi (Klyde):
Right.

Lorenzo:
perspective,

Klajdi (Klyde):
They’ve made that

Lorenzo:
that

Klajdi (Klyde):
pretty

Lorenzo:
makes

Klajdi (Klyde):
clear.

Lorenzo:
no sense. So I feel like at this time Real Madrid can pay definitely paid a lot less than what initially I paid for Mbappe. I mean maybe his wages are a different story but as a transfer fee to PSG I believe that Mbappe is not happy at PSG. PSG needs to capitalize on one of their assets but they’re kind of going to get forced into basically accepting whatever offer comes their way. So I feel like most likely. towards maybe like the last two or three days of the market, they’re gonna finalize Bapit Real Madrid. I feel like it’s gonna

Klajdi (Klyde):
You know,

Lorenzo:
happen

Klajdi (Klyde):
that’s

CHRIS:
Is that

Lorenzo:
this.

Klajdi (Klyde):
interesting.

CHRIS:
Solving Number 9 issue?

Lorenzo:
Will he solve

Klajdi (Klyde):
But

Lorenzo:
it?

Klajdi (Klyde):
that makes a perfect episode.

CHRIS:
I don’t think that Solving Number 9 issue.

Lorenzo:
I feel with Mbappe is going to solve the number 9 issue.

Klajdi (Klyde):
I think so too. I think having Mbappe there would help with going without a number nine, so to speak. I

CHRIS:
Oh

Klajdi (Klyde):
think

CHRIS:
yeah,

Klajdi (Klyde):
so

CHRIS:
it helped

Klajdi (Klyde):
too.

CHRIS:
the cause,

Klajdi (Klyde):
I

CHRIS:
right?

Klajdi (Klyde):
see

CHRIS:
Right.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Lorenzo’s point of view. Because they would have squat depth and…

CHRIS:
It’s like having Messi on one winger and Ronaldo on the other winger saying we can play with no striker. I get that.

Lorenzo:
I don’t know, but I mean

Klajdi (Klyde):
Yeah,

CHRIS:
That

Lorenzo:
even

CHRIS:
helps.

Lorenzo:
with…

CHRIS:
It’s

Klajdi (Klyde):
kind

CHRIS:
definitely

Klajdi (Klyde):
of

CHRIS:
having

Klajdi (Klyde):
similar

CHRIS:
better than

Klajdi (Klyde):
analogy.

CHRIS:
Ronaldo.

Lorenzo:
Even Vappe, if you watch me on the French team, you can put him either as a nine or as a ten. He can play both positions. Yes, ideally he’ll like playing on the wing. But I mean, with

CHRIS:
Great.

Lorenzo:
Vappe, you can switch one of those players on the wing. You can put Vappe on the wing, put Vinicius in the center, or put Vinicius on the wing where he played and put Vappe in the center. So I feel like that would

Klajdi (Klyde):
You can

Lorenzo:
solve

Klajdi (Klyde):
alternate.

Lorenzo:
their number nine

CHRIS:
later.

Lorenzo:
problem. This is why it’s

Klajdi (Klyde):
If

Lorenzo:
interesting.

Klajdi (Klyde):
I was Real Madrid If I was Real Madrid, here’s what I would do if Mbappe was not You know if he if Mbappe was not an option this year, I’ll take a Cardi man That guy was a bowler at Inter Now he’s a god to Sarai. I think PSG sold him. I think he would fit perfectly at Real Madrid He’s not even that old It will give you two, three years.

Lorenzo:
you would say kind of do what a one real got to charity to kind of have him as a backup.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Yeah?

CHRIS:
happen to

Klajdi (Klyde):
A

CHRIS:
Real?

Klajdi (Klyde):
backup is better than nothing.

CHRIS:
Real

Lorenzo:
Yeah?

CHRIS:
would have three, four guys in the striker position and now they’re down to zero.

Lorenzo:
Well, I mean,

Klajdi (Klyde):
I

Lorenzo:
they invested

Klajdi (Klyde):
see

Lorenzo:
their midfield, so…

Klajdi (Klyde):
I never saw her always having that many with a head morata the head morata

CHRIS:
Murata,

Klajdi (Klyde):
that was a

CHRIS:
Benzema,

Klajdi (Klyde):
while ago

CHRIS:
at a point they had Iguain, Benzema, okay Ronaldo was

Klajdi (Klyde):
Yeah.

CHRIS:
playing there, they probably have an academy player too.

Klajdi (Klyde):
So now

CHRIS:
This

Klajdi (Klyde):
they’re down

CHRIS:
well,

Klajdi (Klyde):
to zero.

CHRIS:
Chicharito, now they’re down to zero

Klajdi (Klyde):
But

CHRIS:
so I don’t know.

Klajdi (Klyde):
for long term, for long term, Ossima, the Napoli guy man,

CHRIS:
Yeah,

Lorenzo:
Yeah.

Klajdi (Klyde):
whatever

CHRIS:
that’s true.

Klajdi (Klyde):
team he goes to, he’s a

CHRIS:
No,

Klajdi (Klyde):
long

CHRIS:
that’s

Klajdi (Klyde):
term

CHRIS:
true.

Klajdi (Klyde):
investment.

CHRIS:
And just to remind everyone, we’re not, you know, we’re talking about actual number nines and not like, you know, an Academy player that’s made his debut once and, you

Klajdi (Klyde):
Right,

CHRIS:
know,

Klajdi (Klyde):
right.

CHRIS:
don’t come at us like, oh, they have this person, they don’t have zero. No, they have zero in our book.

Lorenzo:
Like, confirm

Klajdi (Klyde):
That’s

Lorenzo:
true

Klajdi (Klyde):
right.

Lorenzo:
number nine is

Klajdi (Klyde):
But

Lorenzo:
not up

Klajdi (Klyde):
that’s

Lorenzo:
in company.

Klajdi (Klyde):
what I will do either. Actually, so here’s what I would say number one number one pick for me would be Icardi because one he’s a is a Not that not that expensive and two The new coach comes in next year. You never know if he wants to keep Icardi or Osemiyeb or Osime But the new coach comes in and he can decide what who he wants, you know, but Icardi is such a low risk that you don’t need to splash a bunch of money and you don’t

Lorenzo:
So then.

Klajdi (Klyde):
throw away your you know your whole season and call it a transitory season

Lorenzo:
So on that

Klajdi (Klyde):
that’s

Lorenzo:
case

Klajdi (Klyde):
what i would

Lorenzo:
then,

Klajdi (Klyde):
do if i was around andread icardi

Lorenzo:
on that case then it would make more sense to get somebody alone for a year. If they’re going to have a new

Klajdi (Klyde):
Yeah?

Lorenzo:
coach and kind of

Klajdi (Klyde):
Even

Lorenzo:
see what

Klajdi (Klyde):
that?

Lorenzo:
they want to build, I feel like it would make more sense.

CHRIS:
He’s good. Other than Lukaku, who else is going to go alone? That’s

Lorenzo:
Vlachovic.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Hehehehehehe

CHRIS:
decent. That’s that level, honestly. And Murata.

Lorenzo:
Vlachovic is

CHRIS:
Unless

Lorenzo:
an option.

CHRIS:
they want to give Murata a chance.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Vlaović, yeah,

CHRIS:
Alone?

Klajdi (Klyde):
he’s been linked. Yeah?

Lorenzo:
Alone, yeah.

CHRIS:
But why, why would you vent this one alone, Vavvich, if he’s this good? If he’s the answer for real.

Klajdi (Klyde):
Just to…

Lorenzo:
Juventus is going through a hard time,

CHRIS:
And it’s just

Lorenzo:
if

CHRIS:
the

Lorenzo:
they

CHRIS:
answer

Klajdi (Klyde):
get

Lorenzo:
can

CHRIS:
to

Klajdi (Klyde):
in

Lorenzo:
get

Klajdi (Klyde):
game

CHRIS:
a fire.

Lorenzo:
him off his

Klajdi (Klyde):
tonight.

Lorenzo:
payroll.

Klajdi (Klyde):
He’ll play in Champions

CHRIS:
Oh,

Klajdi (Klyde):
League.

Lorenzo:
Don’t

CHRIS:
okay.

Lorenzo:
forget bro. Don’t forget this players.

CHRIS:
Okay.

Lorenzo:
They cost a lot of money. It’s not in the transfer fee like their wages are a lot so

Klajdi (Klyde):
Right?

Lorenzo:
Just getting that off your

CHRIS:
Yeah,

Lorenzo:
you

Klajdi (Klyde):
Yeah.

Lorenzo:
know, if you’re

CHRIS:
it

Lorenzo:
trying

CHRIS:
doesn’t

Lorenzo:
to restructure

CHRIS:
matter that we-

Lorenzo:
So if you’re struggling financially and you get some of

CHRIS:
Yeah.

Lorenzo:
your top earners out. You know,

CHRIS:
Yeah, but we’re not

Lorenzo:
it

CHRIS:
talking

Lorenzo:
frees

CHRIS:
about

Lorenzo:
up.

CHRIS:
like, um, Granada or I don’t know, like Crystal Palace buying Vow of Witch. We’re talking about Byron, which we talked about previous episodes, and we’re talking about Rael right now getting Vow

Lorenzo:
Right.

CHRIS:
of Witch. So obviously we have to, you know, anyways, I think Kane has all the answers that you

Klajdi (Klyde):
Yeah.

CHRIS:
guys need, but you guys need to start opening your horizons and watching Harry Kane at a different, but just look at him and say, Oh, this guy’s at Tana Embus and that just Watch

Klajdi (Klyde):
You

CHRIS:
me

Klajdi (Klyde):
have

CHRIS:
does

Klajdi (Klyde):
so much bias. You have so much bias, Chris.

CHRIS:
No, I do not I like OC men too and you know vol which I’ve never liked um, I like Benzema

Klajdi (Klyde):
Is it because

CHRIS:
a lot Who

Klajdi (Klyde):
you don’t like him? Because I feel like you haven’t watched him enough. Vlahovitch.

CHRIS:
Oh, it’s just not consistent is what I think.

Lorenzo:
Well, I mean, don’t

Klajdi (Klyde):
If

Lorenzo:
forget

Klajdi (Klyde):
you’re Antena,

Lorenzo:
this.

Klajdi (Klyde):
that’s where I watched him. He was pretty consistent.

Lorenzo:
Yeah, you’re going to see the best season. He’s been injured

CHRIS:
I’m sure

Lorenzo:
multiple

CHRIS:
you know

Lorenzo:
times,

CHRIS:
who you’re

Lorenzo:
so

CHRIS:
talking to.

Lorenzo:
he hasn’t played, you know, a lot of. But just to go for attention off a little bit.

CHRIS:
That’s also part of the key, I guess.

Lorenzo:
Harry Kane. I don’t see him live in England.

CHRIS:
is the best

Lorenzo:
If

CHRIS:
thing.

Lorenzo:
he’s going to go, he’s going to go on the EPL.

CHRIS:
What?

Lorenzo:
He probably is going to go to Man United most likely or another team in the EPL. I don’t see him live in England. even though Bayern are close to signing

Klajdi (Klyde):
I disagree

Lorenzo:
him,

Klajdi (Klyde):
with it.

Lorenzo:
I think he’s going

CHRIS:
That’s

Lorenzo:
to remain

CHRIS:
what

Lorenzo:
in

CHRIS:
we

Lorenzo:
England.

CHRIS:
think, right?

Klajdi (Klyde):
I disagree.

Lorenzo:
Amen.

Klajdi (Klyde):
I think because, you know, he’s been at Tottenham for so long, he’s gonna, he kind of like owes them that much to not be sold, you know, to not want to be sold to a different EPL team. I think he owes them that much. That’s what that’s

Lorenzo:
I mean,

Klajdi (Klyde):
my

Lorenzo:
we’re

Klajdi (Klyde):
personal opinion. If

Lorenzo:
talking

Klajdi (Klyde):
I

Lorenzo:
about

Klajdi (Klyde):
was if

Lorenzo:
modern.

Klajdi (Klyde):
I was Harry Kane, I would go to Bayern. But that’s a that’s a different

Lorenzo:
Yep. We’re talking about

Klajdi (Klyde):
that’s

CHRIS:
Alright

Lorenzo:
modern

Klajdi (Klyde):
a different

CHRIS:
guys,

Lorenzo:
football,

CHRIS:
I think

Klajdi (Klyde):
topic.

CHRIS:
that

Lorenzo:
bro.

CHRIS:
was

Lorenzo:
Those

CHRIS:
it for

Lorenzo:
loyalties

CHRIS:
today.

Lorenzo:
don’t exist anymore. There’s only a few players

Klajdi (Klyde):
No, I wouldn’t say that.

Lorenzo:
that will do that.

Klajdi (Klyde):
There’s no more totis, huh?

Lorenzo:
A few players

Klajdi (Klyde):
Alright

Lorenzo:
that would

Klajdi (Klyde):
fellas,

Lorenzo:
do that.

Klajdi (Klyde):
well this was a very interesting topic. I think we, us three, solved Real Madrid’s number 9 issue. That’s all we had for today everyone. This was the outside perspective. Thank you guys for watching and thank you Lorenzo and Chris for your opinions. And we’ll see you all on different videos.

What’s going on everybody? Klyde here with the Offside Perspective and I’m joined by Lorenzo and Chris, and We are going to talk about a very nice topic today. What transfer do you want to see happen since we’re in the transfer window? We got a few more weeks to go and we just, let’s just talk about what transfer you want to see happen? Let’s go with Chris first. Chris. What do you want to see happen?

CHRIS
Alright, so since I’m a United supporter and we’ve been crying out for a striker, I think Harry Kane to United would be the ideal transfer. I think he’s very, I personally think he’s underrated. Like, oh yeah, maybe not in that, but I’d want to see that. Yeah, of course. I personally think he’s underrated. Even though English media likes to hype players up and this and that, I think there’s a lot more to his game than just goal scoring.

Klajdi (Klyde)
You still got hopes in that? Really?

CHRIS
He practically played the last two, three seasons as a number 10 to Son, vice versa as well. The guy can turn on a dime, he can hit it, he can finish with both feet. He’s not the quickest, but hey, he knows his positioning. He’s tall, he can head the ball. He can see a pass, I think, like the best of the midfielders can. Yeah, I’m a big Harry Kane fan.

He’s probably gonna go on and break a bunch of records. He just broke Rooney’s, I believe, for England, right? If I’m not mistaken. Can you confirm Loren? Loren, what do you think? You broke it. Okay, good. All right, good. I just wanna be talking about that, you know? But yeah, that’s my pick. And I can say, obviously my pick up here is like Messi to…

Klajdi (Klyde)
I believe so, yeah. I think he’s aiming for, he’s aiming for Alan Shearers.

Lorenzo (01:40.953)
Yeah, yeah, I think it did break Rooney’s record.

CHRIS
Manchester United because I’d want to see Messi play there. But realistically, I think that’s the problem.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Well, a little bit realistic too, I mean,… All right, Lorenzo?

Lorenzo
I mean as a Juventus fan, a lot of transfers I want to see, especially in this past 2-3 season that Juve has been playing, definitely have a lot of room to change players and bring some fresh players. But as a neutral, just somebody that likes the game, I think it would be pretty interesting to see Verratti go to Liverpool. Liverpool has a promising team, they have Darwin Núñez, they’ve got Luis Díaz on the wing.

I mean, a player like Verratti who’s literally just a hustler the whole game, he just running, you know, that midfield. I feel like that would be, you know, promising. I’d like to see, you know, Liverpool back to what they were doing before, you know, and Klopp’s a good manager. I feel like they had, you know, got unlucky with the injuries a little bit, but Fabinho this past year, I don’t think he’s performed, you know, the level we’re used to seeing him.

So I feel like they’re missing something in midfield to make their strikers shine. So I feel like it’s interesting to see Veratti at Liverpool.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Even though they just made two new signings with Szobolai and McAllister.

Lorenzo
Yeah.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Because that would mean that they would have to redo their whole midfield. Is that, is that, is that the way to go for Liverpool?

Lorenzo
Right. So, so Macallister, that’s, I feel like, is a more creative player. I feel like they just missing somebody that’s like, like a holding mid or kind of like, you know, like Rice that we mentioned earlier, you know, playing box to box, I think Verratti provides it for any team. And I feel like his leadership quality too, you know, just bringing on like they, yeah, they got Macallister, they got Szobolai, but they missing a leader, you know, and I feel like those players are becoming rare and rare, you know, in modern day football, but I feel like some of the teams need. That’s all I want to say about, you know, obviously, you know, they.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Well, that would mean for Henderson to go though. And there has been talks for Henderson to go to Saudi Arabia and whatnot.

CHRIS
I don’t know what you guys are debating about Henderson about, but anyway, go ahead. He’s finished as a player. If anything, this season I’d be surprised if Klopp played him more than 10 games. The guy’s done, I think, personally. Fabinho too. I can’t agree with that. He doesn’t offer you anything else.

Klajdi (Klyde)
What about Henderson? He’s…Why do you say that?

CHRIS
There’s a fine line, once players gets, you know, above the stage and yeah they have done well when they’re English and they’re your captain and all this stuff. There’s a fine line between them performing, and then you playing them just because of their name. And I think it’s

Klajdi (Klyde)
No, no, obviously he’s not gonna play him just for his name, but I mean this past year Liverpool had a bunch of issues and it wasn’t just one person, you know, it was a collective.

CHRIS
Well, I think there’s some of that that’s been done. Yeah, and injuries and stuff too. You’re right. You are right. So yeah, I personally think he’s not going to play him much. Liverpool have not had squad depth, I believe, and they have horrible owners. Is a Man United fan talking about a horrible Liverpool owners? I mean, you know, at least the Glazers actually spend money. I don’t think they’re that horrible as everyone makes them. They have a lot of bad stuff.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Right?

CHRIS
As does every other owner, but Liverpool has had very, very bad luck with them. So, but yeah, I could see that happen. Maybe when he was younger, I could see Verratti go there. Now it’s probably past his time, but.

Klajdi (Klyde)
I see Veratti going to Saudi Arabia, honestly. Or just continuing being part of that PSG project, so to speak. Well, I’m gonna have my say. Yeah, Lorenzo, this was a bit surprising. Veratti at Liverpool? Didn’t expect that

Lorenzo
I mean, we’re saying, you know, transfers that we want to see. Right. I don’t know, to me that would be like an interesting project. Not necessarily it’s going to happen, right?

CHRIS
You’re just more realistic than we are. That’s it.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Right, right. Definitely more realistic than you Chris. I mean Kane to United?

CHRIS
No, it probably is, you’re right. I mean, now, you know what the cherry on top would be if you say Kane to Bayern, because he’s been linked.

Klajdi (Klyde)
No, no. So as a Bayern fan, I like Kane. I really do. I think he is a… He would definitely be the perfect replacement for Lewandowski, but I would want Vlachovic. Vlachovic or… Can I have two? I’m gonna have two. Vlachovic or Ossimeh, the Napoli guy. I cannot do that? Okay, okay. All right.

CHRIS
You can’t do that. We can only have one, it’s not fair. Okay, you’re the host. Go ahead.

Klajdi (Klyde)
I’m gonna save Vlahovich man, that guy is good.

CHRIS
See, I like your second pick better. I think Ossimeh is a better player than Vlahovich is.

Klajdi (Klyde)
But trying to be a little bit more realistic, Napoli is not going to let him go for 200 million, 150 million. And knowing Bayern, they’re not going to splash that kind of money, even though they have that money. They’re not going to splash that kind of money on one player. So I think Vlachovic, especially with the uncertainties at Juve, I don’t know, I would like to see him at Bayern. I think he would fit perfectly there and he’s, even though Last season he did not perform well, but again, kind of like same thing with Liverpool. It was the whole team that didn’t perform well, you know. So you can’t blame it on one person. But I think Vlahovich is a top player so I definitely want to see him at Bayern and I that’s I’d rather pick him over Kane, even though as crazy as that is.

Lorenzo
Well, I mean, also you have to realise, you know, two different spectrums of the career, you know, Kane, is how old compared to Vladovic, who’s still basically 22. So he has a lot of years.

CHRIS
Really?

Klajdi (Klyde)
Harry Kane 29, I thought he was a bit older actually. I looked him up and…

CHRIS
Hey, this is dream transfers. We can idolize, you know, we can say in theory that they’re gonna play till they’re 40 years old. So, Kane on top.

Klajdi (Klyde)
No, I mean 35 I would say that’s where it is. But if you compare it because obviously I’m not going to be Bayern’s financial advisor, but you know, investment wise I think

CHRIS
Yeah, but when you see what some of the players are going for and stuff, it’s not the worst. Because you know, you look at the age, but you also look at the…

Klajdi (Klyde)
But you gotta look at the age and you gotta look at the years left in contract. He’s in his final contract. I mean, that plays a huge role in the price.

CHRIS (09:01.51)
Yeah, okay, I understand what you’re saying. Yeah, that makes sense. You’re right on that end. Because if you’re in the end of your contract, then you could wait one season and get him for free, which makes sense. But compared to some of the other players, I think they’re not asking a lot, because he’s going to guarantee you two, three years at least of 20-plus goals a season. That’s not rookie numbers. You’re not taking a gamble with him. You know what you’re going to get. He’s not injury-prone, which is…

Klajdi (Klyde)
Well, you kind of are taking a gamble because I mean, he’s not in the Premier League, but that’s you assuming and that’s you being biased towards, you know, thinking that the Premier League is the best league, but you never know how he’s going to be in a different league.

CHRIS
He’s done it for…no, you can…You could, so there’s some players, for example, like strikers, goalkeepers. Some of these players, they’re a lot more predictable than other players. Like this guy knows how to put the ball in the back of the net and he’s been tested versus, you know, low block, high block, you know, teams that can keep possession, teams that, you know, play on the counter, he’s been tested, he’s played in all sorts of systems and he showed himself. So with midfield players, with other creative players is different. But I think with Kane is.

Klajdi (Klyde)
you never know what you’re gonna get. Yeah I see your point, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he’s gonna suffer from scoring if he, if he went to Bayern. As a fan and as kind of like seeing myself part of Bayern so to speak, I would rather take Vladovich for a long-term investment.

CHRIS (10:15.17)
So can I ask you a question? Alright, one last thing before we end. We’re taking this a little bit over our time. What do you guys like in Vlahovich so much? I feel like he is missing something.

Klajdi (Klyde)
So Vlahovich is a typical nine that you don’t currently see anywhere else. I mean, other teams are transitioning to make shift number nines, so to speak. I don’t know if that makes sense, but he’s like a number nine, number nine. I see him as kind of like what the number nines used to be back in the day. Not even back in the day. I mean like a Suarez. I see him as a Suarez, even though he’s a left footer, right?

CHRIS
Does he score goals?

Lorenzo
So he scores goals and the thing is, one, he’s tall, right? So he’s good in the air. So he can definitely know on all set pieces, on corners, even on build up play, he can definitely bring the ball back for the other striker. Two, the guy can actually shoot. He has a nice shot and he can actually make space for himself. He’s not the quickest.

Klajdi (Klyde)
He was killing it in Fiorentina.

CHRIS
Right.

Lorenzo
But like I said, at Fiorentina, I was very impressed. I was really happy when he came to Juve, because obviously Juve is my team. But Juve as a team suffered on the field, off the field, a lot of problems. And he got injured too, so he wasn’t playing all the games. But I think he’s probably gonna stay at Juve this year. I feel Juve finally made their agreement with UEFA, to be out of the conference league this year. And just being focused on the Serie A and the Cup, I thought it was gonna help him out. And I feel like Vlahovich is gonna actually have a good year this year. But you never know.

Klajdi (Klyde)
I see Vlahovich as a better version of Morata. And Morata was a good striker. He just missed that final touch.

CHRIS
That’s a good way to put it.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Which as a striker, missing the final touch, you’re missing a lot. And I think that’s what Morata was missing.

Lorenzo
Yeah, I mean…Yeah, speaking of Morata, there is talk that he might come to Seria A. I think he might go to Milan.

Klajdi (Klyde)
This is interesting.

Lorenzo
But…

Klajdi (Klyde)
Milan, they’re building too, but that’s for a different episode. I think that was it for today. So we got Chris, wanting Kane at Man United. We got Lorenzo, wanting Verratti at Liverpool, which was totally random. Maybe we’ll create a gossip out of this or something. This will pick up. And then I, Klyde wanting Vlahovich at Bayern.

I think this will work well. There is no overlapping there. I didn’t say Kane to Bayern. So Chris, your wish could potentially come true.

CHRIS
Hope it does man. And I hope you guys have a good one and see you all.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Alright, well, thank you guys.

Lorenzo
I think it’s going to be Osimeh or Joao Felix, in United. One of those two, in United. You heard it here first.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Go ahead, finish your thoughts.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Ooh, Joao Felix. That’s… These are different topics, though, so we’ll leave those for… Hey, we can create our own rumors, man.

CHRIS
I don’t know where you’re getting this information from.

Lorenzo
I’m just saying.

CHRIS
Yeah, for real.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Let’s start a… here we go.

CHRIS
Here we wish, something like that. That’s how we should make it.

Lorenzo
Alright.

Klajdi (Klyde)
All right, but here we wish, really. All right, thank you, fellas. Appreciate your time, as always. Love talking to you. This was The Offsite Perspective. We’ll see you on different episodes.

CHRIS
Bye bye.

What’s up everyone, this is The Offside Perspective. My name is Klyde, I’m joined here by Lorenzo and Chris. And today, we’re going to talk about the best transfer so far. I know the transfer window has a couple more weeks, but let’s go ahead and talk about the best transfer you guys seen so far. Lorenzo, you go first.

Lorenzo
I’m going to be more conservative with this one. I think the best one was Gundogan going to Barca. I feel like Barca was kind of missing that midfield since, you know, Xavi and Iniesta have left the team. I feel like he’s going to probably provide the most value. Even though it wasn’t a lot of money, he wasn’t an exciting young player. Like, in the Bellagame to Real Madrid or Holland at Man City last season. I feel like the best transfer so far has been Gundogan in Barca.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Have you taken into consideration his age though? Because he is thirty something.

Lorenzo
Considering how Barca had financial difficulties and their struggles, I feel like they need some help to deliver quickly within a season or two and they can have some time to build their team.

Klajdi (Klyde)
And you think Gundogan is the right answer. Yeah, I mean with Busqued leaving, I think they definitely needed someone in their role.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Chris, what is your opinion?

CHRIS
Go ahead, go ahead. I’m still thinking, I’m in the debate between two players. Go ahead.

Lorenzo
I think, yeah, I mean, there are a lot of transfers that happen, you know, big name players, promising players, even with Arda Guler, that was very close to signing for Barcelona and then went to Real Madrid last minute. But I think considering Barca’s current squad and their goals and, like I said, their financial difficulties, I think Gulligan is a player that has experience, has won. I feel like he can fit in the team right away. Compared to younger players who come from other leagues and might need some time to adjust.

CHRIS
I think I’m going to play it safe. I think it’s either Bellingham or Rice. I like both players a lot. I think Bellingham is going to fit in very well. That also depends on the rest of his team, because they still need a striker. And then Declan Rice as well. I think he’s a very, very good player. Arsenal, I think, got him for, you know, they did, I guess, pay a lot of money, but he’ll be worth it in the long run. I don’t know if Arsenal is going to do so well.

this upcoming season. They came off a very, very high last season. So that remains to be seen. But I’m leaning towards the Bellingham side more. I think he’s going to prove different levels that he showed at Dortmund. So that’s a safe option, I guess.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Okay, I think I’m gonna have a similar opinion with you, Chris, because as you guys know, I’m a German fan, so I used to watch Bundesliga a lot, and Bellingham definitely proved himself.

Klajdi (Klyde)
You know, considering his age, I mean, he’s not even 20. What? How old is, how old is Bellingham?

CHRIS
I think yes, it might be 20, 21.

Lorenzo
I think he just hit 20, but…

Klajdi (Klyde)
Okay, well, which, yeah, he’s very young and I mean, he even captained the Borussia side for, you know, for a few games when Reus was missing. So, you know, to be that young and to, to captain such a big team as, you know, Borussia, I think he definitely proved himself and.

Lorenzo
I mean, even in the English team, he definitely deserves the spot. You know, it’s not like a lot of younger players usually with the English team. They tend to, you know, rely heavily on the, on the EPL with somebody that young to come through, you know, from the ballistic and breaking the English first team.

So definitely, you know, probe themselves, but Real Madrid’s a different level, I guess.

CHRIS
Yeah, and England’s definitely, that’s one thing that they’ve always been against anyways. All of England’s team members have been through the Premier League, have never really looked. And I was kind of surprised too, even with Bellingham, he gave them that many chances because, okay, you look at the likes of like, Tomori and Italy, and you have, I think, well, I mean, Smalling is kind of out of it, but there’s some more players that play, you know, outside of the league, and there was that debate, and he never chose them, so.

CHRIS
Bellingham, he has a lot of trust in and you can definitely see why.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Do you think Southgate, or not just Southgate, but English managers in general, are they biased towards players that play in the Premier League and players that play outside?

CHRIS
Oh yeah, oh yeah, 100%. I think they, so, okay, there’s this debate of what’s the best league in the world, and I truly believe it’s the primary league, maybe for different reasons. I think since them being English and coming from that league and watching the majority of the primary league games, I think they have this bias towards themselves. They think they’re the best or the best league. But yeah, I mean, Jude has been, he kind of opened that way up for other players in a way.

CHRIS
I believe him and Sancho too, because Sancho didn’t, you know, he chose a similar career path. So they’re definitely opening that way up for these players. And it’s showing that, hey, if you have the talent, you don’t have to play in the Premier League to be getting called up for the national team and, you know, having this. So personally, like if you look at the likes of Beckham, Owen, you know, these were the original English players. Because during that time…

CHRIS
You know, English football was strictly in-house. They never really, you know, they didn’t go out of there. So it looks like Bellingham is one of, you know, you’re considering him up there with those likes, you know, of players and to be considered, you know, that good of a player, that’s very, very good. So I think he’s going to definitely show what he’s worth. Yeah.

Klajdi (Klyde)
So you just gotta live up the hype then, to the hype that’s created. Now let me ask you this because Gundogan obviously he’s gonna be a starter at Barcelona with Busquets departing and everything. What about Bellingham and Real Madrid? Like I know they spend a ton of money, big name signing, but you got other players at Real Madrid that play in a similar position, Tchouameni and Camavinga.

Camavinga is a little more flexible and he can play in another positions, is Bellingham a hundred percent starter from the get-go?

CHRIS
Oh yeah, why would they spend that type of money and why would they buy him if he wasn’t planning on starting? I think eventually he’ll even end up being captain too for that team. If it’s a long-term plan and everything goes well, definitely, I believe so that he’s gonna start every game and especially every important game, he might get the odd game out here and there, but he’s a 20 year old kid, he’s not gonna get tired.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Well, you gotta understand… They…
They paid a lot of money for Tchouameni also, don’t forget that.

CHRIS
Right, but it’s long term. I mean, they’re having their midfield. It’s a rebuild of their midfield. They’re having, you know, Kroos, Modric. They probably have another year left. There’s, they have no one between, you know, those two guys and they don’t have anyone else. They lost Cassemiro. They don’t have any actual like big name midfielders and now we’re seeing, okay, we saw Camavinga, a good player.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Well, they got Valverde, but he plays a little bit more advanced. What is Valverde’s natural position?

CHRIS
Oh, Valverde. Yeah, but Valverde is also 20 something, older in age too. You know, this is, you know, if we’re talking, it’s probably 25, 26 years old. He’s older than me. No, that’s very good age. But, you know, I believe Bellingham is going to be the first name on that team sheet. You wouldn’t spend that type of money to keep him on the bench, you know? And I think he’s going to rotate him in.

Klajdi (Klyde)
I’m not gonna mention Hazard or anything, but… Lorenzo?

CHRIS
No, I- Hey, I was like, it wasn’t that much money, but-

Lorenzo
So I think it’s going to depend on Bellingham. It depends how, I mean, he definitely has the quality, he has the talent to break through the first team. It is going to depend how long it takes him to adjust to the La Liga. So yes, they spend a lot of money and let’s not forget, soccer is not just on the field, it’s also off the field. Spend money, brand name, marketing, people expect to see Bellingham play. However, Real Madrid always is attracted to big name players. Some didn’t turn out, I mean, they spent a lot of money in Jovich before, promising, didn’t play. Also, if you think about Chelsea, Mudryk, a lot of money, had a hard time adjusting. Granted, these are different types of players, and Bellingham has a little bit more experience, even though he’s younger, but it’s gonna depend. If he’s able to break in the team, I mean, he’s definitely gonna give him the chance to play.

It’s going to be up to him. If he manages to pretty much make a name for himself with Real Madrid, I feel like it’s going to be hard to take him off the list. But if he’s having a hard time adjusting, any manager cannot justify playing him just because he spent a lot of money. And it’s Real Madrid, you know. It doesn’t matter. You need results.

CHRIS
What doubts do you have?

Klajdi (Klyde)
Right. And that’s why I brought up Hazard’s name. What were we saying Chris?

CHRIS
You say- it sounds like you’re doubting the guy. It sounds like he’s doubting. He has more doubts than me and you both do, unveiling him. I mean, obviously, because he picked another player too, also to answer this question.

Klajdi (Klyde)
I mean it’s a different league, although the Bundesliga and La Liga I wouldn’t say much different.

Lorenzo
No, I mean, my biggest…my doubt too is after Ronaldo left, it’s kind of real Madrid, even though we just had a great season, they relied on Benzema. So now Benzema left. It’s going to take some time to find their leader, so I don’t know what kind of tactics or what the coach is going to try to play. Until I find that whatever works for them, it’s going to be a bit of experimenting. So that’s why I don’t know.

CHRIS
Oh yeah, I understand. You’re not hiring this guy to score you goals. You’re hiring this guy to be the engine of the midfield. Even when Benjamin Ronaldo were there, he still had players like Molder G Cruz in the middle. So this guy’s work for a guy that’s not trained, he’s not gonna be selling a million t-shirts or whatever, jerseys, he’s not that type of player, but it’s definitely one of the most important players. For a person that has a trained eye that’s watching the game.

Lorenzo
That’s my dilemma. It’s kind of when the team doesn’t perform, it doesn’t matter. I mean, Bellingham can give five assists and if they’re not scoring, guess what? That doesn’t make the news. It’s the team tied or the team lost. So that’s going to devalue him as a player even though he’s having a great season. Because it’s not like he’s in the mid-table team and he’s having great games.

Lorenzo
He’s at Real Madrid, the top team. So if the team’s not doing good, everyone’s getting blamed, you know? And that’s, that’s why I have no doubt he’s going to do well. It just, it’s kind of like a transition period for Real Madrid a little bit. So that’s why I’m not sure.

Klajdi (Klyde)
Definitely. But Lorenzo, do you think he’s there for assists though? I think he’s there for the transition of the game from defense to offense. He’s not there necessarily to assist. That’s how I personally see it at least. So even if he doesn’t get assists, but he reads the game and the game, if the whole game goes through him, I think he would have done his job.

Lorenzo
But if you look at that position, like we said, you have Tchouameni, you have Camavinga, Modric is a playmaker. It’s kind of hard to just keep him for that, simply for that. He’s a creative player. He makes those runs, even at Dortmund, if you watch how he played, the guy takes a lot of the pressure and opens up other players. I mean, obviously it’s a different level now with Real Madrid, but…

Klajdi (Klyde)
But at Dortmund, I think Dortmund plays more open, so he had that flexibility. But at Real Madrid, because I see Bellingham as a Busquets type of player, right? Busquets never had any assists or any goals, but he was THE game, pretty much. That’s how I personally see it. And that’s how I see Bellingham at Real Madrid.

CHRIS
No, he has a lot more assets than Busquets, I think personally even though Busquets, he was the best on those two or three assets that he had, you know, I think Bellingham is a, he’s an all-rounded player, he’s got a decent shot, he’s got a very good pass, he has vision, he has, you know, a very good engine, he can run back and forth, because if you want to say, okay in Germany he was like that, but look at his game for England and you can argue England sometimes play pragmatic football, and that sound like they’re, you know, that’s not that free open game or attacking game, you know? That’s due to Southgate, but that’s a different story. But even there he shines, so.

Lorenzo
And that’s why I said I had my doubts because honestly, if you put even this year, even though Modric is old and getting towards the end of his career, if you put Modric and Bellingham together, they might just probably make one of the best midfield duos in the entire world. You have Modric as experience, as a visionary, proven himself over and over and you got Bellingham, right? But I mean, for Bellingham, it’ll be great to learn even from Modric, right? Cause he’s a top player too, if you have both of them playing at the same time, if you’re the opposing team, what do you do? You know, like who is the ball going to run through? So like that’s, it gives you a little bit of, you know, unpredictability. So it’ll be exciting to watch for sure.

Klajdi (Klyde)
It’s crazy to think that Modric is almost double Bellingham’s age. But I think Bellingham definitely is in the right team. He’s going to learn a lot from the likes of Kross and Modric. It’s going to be exciting. Yeah. So we got me and Chris think Bellingham is the best signing and we got Lorenzo who thinks Gundogan is the best signing. Only time will tell. But that was all for today guys. Thank you for tuning in the offsite perspective and we’ll see you in other episodes. Peace.
